November Already

Where did October go?

The week after the baptism was our primary program. Justin did very well, spoke clear and load enough. Just as the meeting was starting he realized he left his tie home(he never goes to church without his tie!). Reece was home sick so we called him to bring one. Then i had to walk up to the front to give it to him! Near the end of the program his class sang "i hope they call me on a mission" I think Justin was the lead and the rest were just backup singers;o! The lady who is in charge of finding musical numbers for sacrament came up to me after and asked if he would sing a solo for the fourth sund in Nov. She was in awe and said "he hit every note on key and actually sang not shouted!

Some of you may have heard, we have a new resident. Her name is Kayla and she is 14. She was baptized by Elder Wood in March or April. We knew she was looking for something in her life we just didn't know what. It has taken her this long to just talk to us. We always thought she was so shy. She attempted to take her life about a month ago. Her b-day was in Oct. and I asked Katie to cut and color her hair for her. Then we took her to town and bought her some new clothes. On monday she told us she had been molested and her parents(leagal gaurdians) said that the boy was asleep and didn't know what he was doing. Reece asked her if any one else had done this to her and she said yes. He emediatly came into the house and called the police. The only other person she had told about this was her therapist just that afternoon. We were shocked that
he had not told the authorities yet. Her parents tell her she is a crazy lunatic. Since she has been in my house (4 days) she has changed so much. She isn't shy, she talks and runs around with leslie like she lives here. We are going to do everything in our power to make sure that she never has to go back to that house again. We are going to petition to get legal custody and maybe even adopt her( her real parents have abandoned her twice). So maybe with all the other ones we are praying for right now you could also say a prayer for Kayla!
